The Hoffmann Bird Club was established in 1940 with a mission of promoting the study of birds in Berkshire County. The club was founded under the auspices of the Berkshire Museum and named in honor of Ralph Hoffmann, a naturalist who was born in Stockbridge, Berkshire County.
Meetings and programs are held from September thru May and are open at no charge to anyone interested in birds and birding.
Field trips are led by experienced birders, free of charge, and beginners are always welcome.
Membership in the Hoffmann Bird Club is open to anyone interested in birds and bird study. Annual dues are $20 per person, $30 per family, and $5 per student.
We also offer a campership scholarship fund for Mass Audubon’s Pleasant Valley Sanctuary’s Nature Camp, for young people, interested in nature, and who are challenged to afford the regular tuition.
The Hoffmann Bird Club is now an officially recognized 501(c)3 non-profit.
Donations are accepted at any level.
