Agenda
The meeting will begin with a viewing of BerkShares’ promotional video, “Money Well Spent,” produced in 2025.
Board members will provide updates on the affairs of BerkShares, Inc. and BerkShares Local Inc., including financial and operational updates.

About BerkShares
BerkShares is our local currency for the Berkshire region.

Since 2006, BerkShares has worked in collaboration with participating community banks, area businesses, and local non-profits to strengthen the regional economy.
Anyone can obtain BerkShares by trading in cash at a one-to-one rate at any of our six participating local bank branches. BerkShares can then be spent just like cash at any of the hundreds of small local businesses that proudly accept the currency.
When community members choose to spend BerkShares, they rest assured that their money is well spent. Studies consistently show that small independent businesses recirculate a far greater proportion of their revenue locally than do large chain retailers. Plus, since BerkShares can only be spent locally, this local recirculation of revenue gets amplified, contributing to a multiplier effect of local economic impact!
Soon to celebrate its 20th anniversary, BerkShares has renewed ambition and energy heading into 2026. BerkShares has recently incorporated a sister 501(c)(3) non-profit to oversee education and community outreach (BerkShares Local Inc.), providing greater financial flexibility and expanded opportunities for fundraising. In 2025, thousands of BerkShares cycled through the Berkshire economy every month, each representing a conscientious decision to support the region’s small local businesses.
We ask that attendees please RSVP by emailing us at info@berkshares.org.
